Jeffrey C. Dixon, Ph.D., is a professor of sociology at a New England liberal arts college and the founder of Ethical & Responsible Artificial Intelligence Consulting, LLC. Dr. Dixon teaches courses on the sociology of artificial intelligence and AI's implications for social life, and has served on an institutional AI task force and its ethics subcommittee. His current research examines job insecurity in the AI age — how predictions about AI's labor-market effects square with workers' realities. He is co-author of The Process of Social Research (Oxford University Press, 3rd ed.) and The Process of Research in Criminal Justice and Criminology (Oxford University Press), standard texts on research methodology. He has spoken on AI ethics and its professional implications to audiences in education and beyond, including professional associations of lawyers and physicians.
